About Dan O. Root II Health and Wellness Academy

Dan O. Root II Health and Wellness Academy is located in east Suisun City, Calif. Dan O. Root opened its doors to 1,060 K-6 students on July 9, 1990. The school began as a year-round school following a 60-20 calendar. In August 2010, we switched to K-5 following a modified district-wide calendar. Our school offers Learning Centers that are staffed by Special Education Teachers and Paraprofessionals; Speech/Language Therapy and Adaptive Physical Education (APE). We have a nurse and psychologist as well.

All of our students are taught by highly qualified, fully credentialed teachers. Grades K-3 are 24:1 and grades 4-6 are 34:1. Students have equal access to computers in their classrooms. Our library is staffed with a Library Media Technician, and a librarian visits once a week.
